Clever is a Fintech specialized in mutual fund investments from the BICE group, launched in June 2021. To date, it has a web platform and apps for Android and iOS, with approximately 9,000 active users with investments. The team of this startup consists of 30 people.
"I have been with Clever since June 2021. I am the sole UX Designer, making me a 'UX team of one.' I am part of the web and app product team. We work with agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) and design thinking. Typically, I work in tandem with a UI Designer. My activities include leading and executing:
- UX Research (interviews, testing, card sorting)
- Co-creation activities.
- Wireframing and prototyping.
- Analysis and metric reports in collaboration with CX.
- Experience measurement.
- UI design."
When I arrived at Clever, there were no methods for measuring experience, validation, or user research. My first initiative was to amplify the user's voice through monitoring customer service channels in collaboration with CX. This tool allowed us to identify user pain points and prioritize them to generate actionable insights that drove new features for the product. It also enabled us to measure the impact of our releases month by month.
"An example is the profitability simulator. Users frequently asked us questions like: 'When will I double my investment if I contribute $1,000?' They didn't understand how mutual funds worked and had unrealistic expectations, or they wanted to simulate before deciding to invest. This allowed us to reduce this query in the chat by 70%."
